And if we should die tonight; Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Two point five million people die in the United States each year, that is almost seven thousand people per day. Some of them can easily be explained - old age, suicide, illness/disease, even murder. However of those seven thousand people that die each day not many of them can say that they came back to life, be that as it may this young woman could claim such a thing. She had fallen ten stories, she had felt herself die and yet here she was alive once more.
Moving silently was something the young red-haired woman had long since grown accustomed to doing, when your entire life is spent running away its something you pick up on. Hazel colored optics surveyed the ground in front of her very careful as to where she would place her next step, each move carefully calculated before executed. Why now would this woman be running away? Well that was quite simple, she was running away from her past and she was running away from the truth.
She didn't want to believe that she had died and come back to life, she didn't want to believe that she was now developing this crazy new ability that allowed her to disappear from the world. All her life all Raquel Darc had ever wanted to do was disappear, she had never wanted to exist because she had never known anything but unhappiness, that is until she had finally been able to escape her prison. Or what she had thought was an escape, the truth had hit her hard he was never going to let her go. He was even sitting patiently in the parking lot waiting for her to return, her roommate had texted her and told her so while she had been out at the library, which was why she couldn't go home. She was much too afraid to face him.
Her legs finally gave out, unable to carry her any longer until she had a break. She was winded from running through the trails, the sun had set quite a few hours ago so she honestly had no idea what time it was. Tears stung her eyes but she forced them back, she refused to relinquish the tiny bit of control that she had left. She pounded her fist into the dirt angrily her body flickering between her visible and invisible forms. "Get it together Kel." She grumbled to herself as she slowly wrapped her arms around herself and cast her gaze up towards the nearly full moon, that cast an illuminating late on the trail she had been running and now sat beside.
